Our Environmental Policy
Lagan Boat Company N.I. Ltd's general policy regarding the river environment is to create a wider awareness among our visitors of the importance of preserving a record of the industrial and social heritage on the river, and also the conservation of wildlife and the natural habitat. Commentaries on our guided tours are geared towards these aims. We are also working on specific educational programmes and field trips which will tie in with relevant conservation, environmental, geographical and historical aspects of the schools curriculum.
We have a green corridor running from Stranmillis Weir to St George's Harbour on the west bank and Ravenhill Reach on the east bank which contains a wide variety of wildlife and flora. Our objectives are to create an ideal environment for wildlife on the river by adding to, and enhancing, the existing habitat.
