One of five postcards depicting an incident in 1904 when the Russian Fleet opened fire on the Hull fishing fleet

The Russian Fleet was sent out from Russia to the Pacific when the Japanese attacked Port Arthur in 1904. When the Russian Fleet was passing England they were surprised by English fishing vessels which they mistook for Japanese 'junks' and fired upon them damaging a few.
This incident, dubbed the 'Russian Outrage 'almost caused a naval conflict between the British and Russian Fleets. This postcard was taken from a painting of the incident.
