The picture accompanying this item shows a small section (approx. 1/12th of entire drawing) of a unique Harland & Wolff engineering plan drawn in 1945.

Drawn on Irish linen it details a replacement cylinder cover for the vessel 'Salacia' ship no: 982 a cargo ship built for the Donaldson lines Ltd in 1937.

The drawing is signed by both engineers with handwritten pencil notes in one corner

Scales:  1:3  1:2

This is one of a small number of similar manuals in our collection.

 



 

This original manual (786)  from the shipyards of Harland & Wolff (August 1938) is entitled
"Working Instructions for Diesel Engines (Burmeister & Wain System) in Motor Ships" and bears the Harland & Wolff logo. The Title, logo and number are in gold against a dark green hardback cover.
